While enjoying seafood in Brittany, Adil ACHIBANE was inspired by the shape and movement of shells to design PODCALM, adopting a fluid bio-design with no straight lines.
At the same time, he drew from the analogy of the maternal womb to create a sense of security and intimate connection, leading to the design of the closed capsule and the “zero gravity” weightless chair. This natural and ergonomic approach aims to promote both the physical and mental well-being of users.
in 2017, an impromptu nap on the grass at the Jardin de l’Atlantique in Montparnasse led to a conversation with a colleague about the lack of spaces for napping at work, planting the seed for what would become PODCALM.
Drawing on his experience with giants like Peugeot Citroën, Renault, and Alstom Transport, Adil ACHIBANE, a mechanical engineering mathematician with a background in mechanical calculations and someone who personally struggled with insomnia and stress, developed PODCALM.
Initially created to address his own needs, he later transformed his personal solution into an innovative capsule aimed at improving the well-being of workers dealing with stress and insomnia.
Today, PODCALM goes beyond the concept of a simple nap capsule to offer advanced technology that fosters harmony between the body and mind, thus enhancing both mental and physical well-being in the workplace.
Adil continues to refine PODCALM, relying on scientific research, collaboration across various disciplines, and a strong commitment to the quality and sustainability of the product
